This is simply a massive reinforcement of the country's air defence system. Anti-aircraft will receive systems – SPL – their most crucial component is PET/PCL radar, a device that can detect any aircraft, besides 1 made in the stealth technology. A contract worth nearly PLN 6 billion for 46 devices was signed on the first day of MSPO 2025. present the Ministry of Defence besides ordered another 23 1000 copies of the Grots.

First Day of the global Defence manufacture Salon In Kielce, it has been not only the time of visiting guests and government delegations from around the world, but besides the conclusion by the Ministry of National Defence of large contracts for key weapons systems.

Two years ago, during the XXXI MSPO edition, on the first day of the fair, the Armed Forces Agency signed 2 of the PGZ-Narew consortium implementing contracts for the supply of 23 batteries of the Narew anti-aircraft defence system worth over PLN 50 billion! This year's edition of the fair did not disappoint expectations and besides brought advanced value contracts. The first of these is simply a pending contract for the transportation of 46 SPL systems (Passive Location System) by the radiotechnic troops. According to the agreement concluded by the Armed Forces Agency and the PGZ-Narew consortium, the equipment is to be delivered in 2 tranches. The first as a guaranteed order for 28 copies and the second for 18 units obtained under ‘options’.

RECLAMA

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, present at the signing of the contract, stressed that strengthening the capabilities of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland in the field of air defence is simply a modernisation priority. “This is another agreement that I am signing, which concerns strengthening capabilities in the field of airspace security, radio-electronic recognition, in the field of combating drones,” commented the head of the National Defence Ministry. He added that SPL radars are a Polish product that strengthens not only the army but besides the economy. – This is simply a Polish technological thought. It is besides an investment in the Polish economy, in the workplace, in everything that lies at our heart, that is, the safety that connects to the economy – stressed the Deputy Prime Minister.

He sees everything

Developed by engineers from PIT-Radwar, supported by specialists from Warsaw University of Technology and AM TECHNOLOGIES, the SPL radiolocation strategy is simply a unique solution on a global scale. While ‘classic’ radars detect flying objects by sending electromagnetic waves (different frequencies) towards them and on the basis of how rapidly they return to the broadcasting antenna, they find the position of the aircraft concerned, so the SPL is simply a passive device, that is only the data collector.

To detect enemy aircraft, drone or helicopter, SPL uses 2 systems: PCL, Passive Coherent Location and PET, or Passive Emitter Tracking. The first 1 – PCL, allows you to find aircraft thanks to the analysis of tv and radio waves (including GSM) that bounce off any object nearby. PIT-Radwar specialists guarantee that even stealth aircraft do not hide from SPL.

The scope of operation depends on the kind of wave detected and the size of the aircraft. In the case of radio wave analysis, radar can find aircraft from up to 200 km. erstwhile it's a tv signal, it's 80 km, and it's about 10 km mobile. The interesting thing is that the PCL strategy works best erstwhile radio waves of broadcasting... stone music reflect from the tracked object.

The second strategy utilized by SPL is PET. In short, it is simply a passive radar that detects electromagnetic radiation emitted by electronic devices installed on board aircraft. PET scope depends on the kind of radiation detected – in the case of radar (issued by aircraft) it is up to 200 km.

Grotto for everyone

Second contract concluded present in Kielce It was about the Grot Rifles.. For the tranche of 23 1000 copies to be delivered between 2027 and 2028, the Agency of Armed Forces will pay Radom’s “Łuknik” weapons mill 307 million PLN.

Paweł Bejda, present at the signing of the contract, the Deputy Minister of National Defence announced that the Radom company will receive further orders for Groty this year. “We want all soldiers of the Polish Army to be equipped with this modern weapon,” declared the Deputy Minister.
