Soldier 6 of the Mazovian Territorial Defence Brigade awarded the Bronze Cross of Merit by the president of the Republic of Poland. The award ceremony took place during the celebrations of the 81st anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising - in the heart of the capital, in a place steeped in past and heroism.
Lieutenant Marlena Rosłaniec serves regular in the 6MBOT 61th Light Infantry Battalion of the Princes. For many years, she has been full committed to caring for the Insurgents — visiting their homes, accompanying them during crucial events, supporting them in everyday difficulties. Its activity is not only a military service, but above all a profoundly human, patriotic mission — a mission of the heart.
On 30 July, during the celebrations of the anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising, the president of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda awarded state distinctions to the participants of the Uprising and to those who cherished the memory of those events. This unique award was awarded for many years, full of devotion and empathy to care for the Heroes of the Warsaw Uprising — people who, 81 years ago, faced an unequal fight for the freedom of the Homeland, without saving lives or health. Lt. Marlena Rosłaniec was besides among the decorated.
– This discrimination means a lot to me, in a peculiar place, in a peculiar time, due to the fact that 2 days before the next anniversary of this event. These are emotions that are hard to describe - says por. Rosłaniec adds: - In the eyes of the Insurgents you can inactive see the fire of those days – steadfastness, courage, love for the Homeland. I have this honor to be close to them, to help, to talk, to listen... all gathering like this is simply a gathering with a communicative we can't forget.
The medal was presented in an atmosphere of deep emotion, and the lieutenant accompanied her closest household and colleagues in the military unit on that peculiar day.
It is worth noting that this is not the only presidential award for 6MBOT soldiers. 3 years ago, a elder Private Paulina Makulec-Walenda was decorated with the Silver Cross of Merit for supporting the veterans. In 2021, however, the “For the Common Good” prize was awarded to Mr Jakub Wachnicki at the hands of president Andrzej Duda.
Due to the impending 81st anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising, soldiers of the 6th Mazovian Territorial Defence Brigade visited the veterans from the area of work of the subdivisions. They besides cared about memorial sites, specified as the tiny Insurgency Monument in Warsaw.
On 1 August, they will not be missing during celebrations where they service all day, including in Radom, Otwock, Grójec, Pomiechowek, Zakroczym or Płock.
