23 August Orise will again be at the centre of attention of experts from utmost challenges. All thanks to the 13th edition of the Tiger Race, 1 of the most hard obstacles in Poland, which draws from the legend of the celebrated "penal unit" – 7 Disciplinary Branch 1370.
Although Orzysz lies in the heart of Mazur, during tens of years, more than with the wealth of lakes and forests he was associated and is with the army. And in particular, with the covered mixed fame of the Criminal Unit. The Tiger's run, an extreme, sporting military challenge, which is full of handfuls, derives from the past of the 7th Disciplinary Division of 1370, in which since the early 1970s soldiers have atone for their sins, passing through the actual school of life.
A soldier who spent at JW1370 at least 1 day was referred to as “The Boy Scout”. Those who served 40 days were given the nickname “Tiger”. During this time, they frequently had to number the alleged large Barrel, or exhausting march in full dress after the unit-closed Orzysz camp, during which, in a crisis situation, they forged their characters.
On this basis, the Tiger Run was born, the first edition of which was launched in 2012. Since then, many daredevils have faced the legend of the Tigers, not only from various parts of Poland, but besides from abroad. In addition to civilians, cross-country representations of all uniformed services appear on the launch list for years. In Orzysz, they have a unique chance to – on the way leading, among others, through the military training ground – besides face soldiers of the NATO Combat Battalion Group (including Americans, British, Croats, Romanians).
The main challenges of the 13th edition are:
– Large barrel (individual run in shoes and military trousers at a distance of 30 km, with a minimum of 80 natural and artificial obstacles, full with additional load),
– tiny Barrel (individual run in any clothing at a distance of 20 km, with 60 natural and artificial obstacles),
– The mortar (individual course in any clothes at a distance of 12.5 km, with 30 natural and artificial obstacles).
Additional challenge for the youngest - the tiny Tiger Track (for the youngest daredevils visiting this day Orzysz).
