Tactical tactics in the field, the most effective techniques of reconnaissance and basics of combat in close contact. Instructors from the Military method Academy conducted training for officers of the Railway defender Operations and Intervention Group. The course program besides included field medicine classes, as well as shooting ranges.
– Railway infrastructure is strategic, and this requires specialised preparation of the persons liable for its protection – says Colonel Dr. Sławomir Niemirka, Vice president WAT Military Affairs. Therefore, as he explains, the university has made available its instructors and facilities to train Railway defender officers. “It is primarily about the transfer of combat, fire and tactical skills,” adds Colonel Niemirka.
For training at WAT An SOK operating and intervention group specialising in the implementation of the most hard tasks related to the protection of railway areas has arrived. It's like the equivalent of peculiar forces. Officers work regular at respective regional stations throughout the country.
During the day-long training, they became acquainted with the construction and operation of weapons – 5,56 mm MSBS Grot and 9 mm VIS-100. They trained with it in the field utilizing elements of "green tactics". They practiced, among another things, "breaking off contact", or behaviour during an ambush, erstwhile it was essential to rapidly retreat from the death region and at the same time to defend colleagues from the sub-unit. They besides had the chance to train shooting on a peculiar simulator. They've studied reconnaissance techniques, including the drone.
The course program included classes from the basics of field medicine. Officers have improved their cognition of usage MARCHE procedures, which imposes the order of providing assistance to victims on the battlefield, ordering, among others, to find and halt massive bleeding. According to the instructor, Lt. Catherine Szwed, 1 challenge was to safe and reduce the airways with a peculiar nasal-pharyngeal tube or dissipation of the spring membrane. – The participants of the classes had to overcome the intellectual barrier and in a certain way insert the needle into the phantom, pierce the skin. But they dared – the teacher noted.
Captain Stanislaw Ślusakowicz from the military section of WAT combat sports, who conducted classes with, among others, fighting in close contactstressed that the combination of military experience and railway protection is very important. – Soldiers can show how to fight in open ground, which surrounds railway infrastructure, while from SOK officers we learned what it looks like from within," he said.
Training Manager, Colonel Dr. hab. Rafał Parczewski besides pays attention to the importance of exchanging experiences of these 2 uniformed formations. “We see the request for future cooperation with SOK officers due to the fact that they have extended experience of prevention, retention. A WAT sends his subjects besides to service at the border of the country and to know the specificity of working in specified conditions is very valuable – he explains.
Arkadiusz Szpoton, head of the department for training and professional improvement of SOK officers, admits that in his formation they frequently encounter various forms of aggression, have contact with dangerous people, including criminal groups. Therefore, they request to train intervention and shooting techniques at all times to guarantee that they are effective in emergency situations.
