Light infantry trained... in water!

Recently, 622 light infantry companies participated in training in the preparation and conduct of rescue operations. Among the topics of the class were besides conducting search and rescue activities in cooperation with the Water Volunteer Rescue Assistance. The soldiers got acquainted with elements of water rescue, including taking people from water - in uniform with weapons and equipment. Additionally, full-time radiotelephonists improved radio support for 9211 radio stations and gave a MEDAVAC report. On the another hand, rescuers – in cooperation with the WOPR – were trained in providing first aid and evacuation of victims from dangerous places.

The aim of this kind of class is to improve crisis consequence skills in cooperation with another services, in this case with the Water Volunteer Rescue Service - explains Lt. Peter - commander of 622 companies and adds: - It is besides about building trust and contact with the local community in the Permanent Region of Responsibility, which is the area for which the full Battalion is liable in the event of a crisis, so besides our company. specified training is besides an excellent chance to exchange experiences between the services.

By the Radomka River in the municipality of Jedlinsk, soldiers of 621 light infantry companies raised their qualifications in green tactics and overcoming water obstacles. Skills to conduct activities in wooded areas that dominate the Polish scenery are crucial to effective territorial defence.

In simulated scenarios, territorialists practiced procedures to apprehend suspects and search the area. Intensive training besides included topography and communication classes. Reading maps and orientation in the field prepares soldiers to act in different situations and hard conditions, and effective communication — both conventional and utilizing modern technologies — guarantees that the orders will arrive in time and the planned operations will run smoothly. However, a real test of fast consequence and maneuvering in hard terrain conditions was the line crossing by Radomka, which was 1 of the more spectacular elements of the training.

Discipline, teamwork and the ability to adapt soldiers to hard conditions are crucial to our operational efficiency. Today's classes strengthen my assurance that our training effort is achieving tangible affirmative results – concludes Lieutenant Milena - commander of 621 light infantry company.

Both 621 and 622 klp are part of the 62nd Light Infantry Battalion stationed in Radom.

Rotational training is simply a kind of service of a soldier performing the TSW in terms and places specified by the commander of a military unit - usually carried out on weekends. On the another hand, erstwhile all soldier is obliged to participate in a two-week integrated training, which importantly urinates the full training and positively affects the assembly of the division. This form of training allows to conduct classes in conditions usually unavailable in garrisons, e.g. shooting at real distances or squad situational shootings.
