Cable crossings, emergency classes... The soldiers of the 62nd Battalion of the Light Infantry in Radom as part of fresh rotation training took part in classes on water tanks. This is an crucial part of training soldiers for unexpected events.

Territorials have frequently participated in anti-crisis activities, including floods or flooding. Only last year, soldiers of the 6th Mazovia Territorial Defence Brigade participated in activities in the flood-stricken Kłodzka Basin, but besides brought assistance to the victims as a consequence of the submerge in Wyszkow. On the another hand, rescuers – in cooperation with the WOPR – were trained in providing first aid and evacuation of victims from dangerous places.

The aim of this kind of class is to improve crisis consequence skills in cooperation with another services, in this case with the Water Volunteer Rescue Service - explains Lt. By the Radomka River in the municipality of Jedlinsk, soldiers of 621 light infantry companies raised their qualifications in green tactics and overcoming water obstacles. Skills to conduct activities in wooded areas that dominate the Polish scenery are crucial to effective territorial defence.

In simulated scenarios, territorialists practiced procedures to apprehend suspects and search the area. Intensive training besides included topography and communication classes. Reading maps and orientation in the field prepares soldiers to act in different situations and hard conditions, and effective communication — both conventional and utilizing modern technologies — guarantees that the orders will arrive in time and the planned operations will run smoothly. However, a real test of fast consequence and maneuvering in hard terrain conditions was the line crossing by Radomka, which was 1 of the more spectacular elements of the training.
