Tusk's entry on the anniversary of the crash. “The memory of them should not divide us”

"The memory of the Smolensk disaster and its victims should no longer divide us. Restoring the community and common respect is possible and necessary, even if inactive very difficult. Let's effort it. That's what they're waiting for. May they remainder in peace," wrote the Prime Minister.

On Thursday at the capital cemetery in Military Powązki Smolensk disaster victims were commemorated. On behalf of Prime Minister Donald Tusk, the Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of the Council of Ministers took part in the ceremonies Jan Grabic.

The celebrations of the 15th anniversary of the Smolensk disaster began at 8.20 a.m. before the Smolensk Tragedy Victims Memorial 2010. During the appeal they were read the names of 96 disaster victims. At 8.41 p.m., their memory was commemorated by a minute of silence, after which they were placed under a monument to the wreath.

The celebrations were attended by families of the victims of the disaster, Marshal of the Sejm Szymon Hołownia, Marshal of the legislature of Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, Head of the Ministry of abroad Affairs Tomasz Siemoniak, Deputy Prime Minister of MON Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Deputy Prime Minister, Head of MC Krzysztof Gawkowski, president of Warsaw Rafał Trzaskowski, Head of MFiPR Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz, Head of MEN Barbara Nowacka, Deputy Minister of MON Cezary Tomczyk and Deputy Minister of SZ Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski.

96 people died in the Tu-154M plane crash close Smolensk on 10 April 2010, among them: President Lech Kaczyński with his wife Maria Kaczyński, the last president of Poland in exile Ryszard Kaczorowski and another personalities, including the most crucial commanders of the Polish Army. The Polish delegation went on to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Katyn crime.
