Physical fitness of soldiers is 1 of the factors that show their ability to act in the field. A strong, fast, agile and resilient soldier is effective in regular service, in war or crisis activities. Sports all day
Major dir. Wojciech „Zachar” Zacharków, the erstwhile chief of selection and training of the basic Military Unit Agat, about wellness and physical fitness can tell for hours. It refers not only to its individual experiences, but besides to professional observations. For years, he was liable for recruiting candidates for service in peculiar troops, conducting physical education classes for ground troops and commandos, and present trains and prepares civilians who dream of wearing uniform in the future.
– I realize perfectly well that the reconciliation of duties with care for form, regular physical activity, reasonable training And balanced nutrition is very difficult. This is not always successful, and not all day in this respect is successful. But you gotta effort – Zacharków emphasizes. He himself does not let go and slow down, even though he has been in civilian service for 7 years. – The quality of training is very crucial to me. I besides pay quite a few attention to issues related to regeneration of the body – he explains. “Zachara” Week is filled with training of varying intensity. A morning start is mandatory: usually a short run with a dog. Three-four times a week, he performs a divided strength training, which is divided into different muscle parts: back, triceps, chest, biceps, legs, with shoulders always being his priority. In addition, 3 times a week there are moving workouts, including 1 at a fast pace, 1 interval and 1 long distance – about 18–20 km.
In addition, he leaves erstwhile a week for the mountains, where he performs a peculiar training unit. The weekly activity list is closed by 2 WOD-type crossfit workouts (workout of the day). – WODs are trainings with a advanced degree of intensity. And regardless of the weather, I usually do them in the open air. On the 1 hand, I like to get out of the comfort region and organize more hard training conditions, and on the another hand I avoid crowded gyms due to the fact that I don’t like waiting in line for training equipment,” said erstwhile specialists and adds: “By serving in peculiar troops, conducting selections and demanding training, I know that sports are essential in the life of a soldier. And today, as a erstwhile soldier, I look at it from a different perspective: sports in general helps us in everyday life. If we are active, we want more, we can more, we have energy to act and a affirmative attitude to life.”
