As it turned out, Nawrocki's efforts were useless. The president of the IPN failed to convince the majority. According to the figures of the State Election Commission, the first circular of elections in Zabrze was won by Rafał Trzaskowski with a consequence of 35.43 percent of the votes, and it was supported by 23,523 people. Karol Nawrocki finished second, gaining 24.11 percent, or 16.004 votes.
