The death of Sergeant Matthew Sitk, soldier of the 1st Warsaw Armored Brigade, sparked a wave of emotions throughout Poland. This tragedy besides became the subject of political controversy following the statements of the erstwhile associate of the Civic Coalition and erstwhile head of the Polish Humanitarian Action, Janina Ochojska. Ochojska: ‘It has not been secured or trained’
Janina Ochojska, commenting on the tragic death of Sergeant Sitka, expressed sympathy for the soldier and his family, but further stressed that his death was due to a deficiency of adequate security. "Despite Mrs Janina Ochojska's words, Sergeant Matthew Sitek was decently prepared, trained and equipped. He died at the hands of 1 of the thugs who wanted to endanger our safety. They deliberately and deliberately usage aggression against which we as a state will defend," wrote the head of the MON.
Death of a soldier on duty
Mateusz Sitek was killed as a consequence of a violent knife attack on the Polish-Belarusian border. The event occurred on 28 May in the area of the Church Dubich in Podlasie.
