When the building can't be saved
Bombers emphasize that demolition work is not an easy task. Now they support us in demolishing buildings that have been damaged by water and are not suitable for reconstruction, says Dariusz Chromiec, Mayor of the Śląski Site. He adds that military engineering specialists proceed to carry out tasks in the city related to roadblocking. "The task force of the Engineering Army under Operation Feniks has been extended until the end of April and until then, I believe, we will not miss the work," concludes the commander of the Engineering Battalion.
Operation Feniks, i.e. cleaning up the area by the military, securing destroyed areas and helping local self-governments affected by the floods, has been going on since September last year.
