Ultimate Building device is simply a mobile device that can produce finished steel building elements within a fewer days, although it usually takes weeks. 2 specified machines were purchased by the military from the United States. They will velocity up the construction of the fortifications that are being built on the east border under the Tartar East. The equipment will go to engineering units in Jarocin and Inowrocław.
– Building "I am rolling the east", the largest logistics investment on the east border, the NATO flank, we besides decided to acquisition the most modern equipment to make the investment run rapidly and accurately – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence during the presentation of the strategy for the fast construction of UBM infrastructure facilities (Ultimate Building Machine).
The military bought 2 sets of these devices along with a training package. An agreement with the American company M.I.C. Industries 2 Regional Logistics Base in Warsaw signed in mid-January this year. Purchases of UBM machines are included in the National Fear and defence Programme "Tarcza East". fresh equipment will accelerate the construction of shelters and another elements of defence infrastructure, which is created on the east border.
– UBM this is, I will say most figuratively, specified a large printer that is able to build infrastructure for the “Tarchy East” in a very short time: shelters, warehouses, hangars – explained Władysław Kosiniak-Kamish. He announced that the military was planning to usage devices not only at the border, but besides in the construction of infrastructure of military complexes, including accommodation facilities or hangars. UBM m devicesalso service the civilian population in the event of disasters and conflicts, e.g. to rapidly build shelter for refugees, field medical facilities or feeding sites.
Deputy Minister Cezary Tomczyk stressed that UBM allows to accomplish a fresh level of safety for its own troops and civilians. “This contract worth respective 100 million PLN is simply a fundamental investment in Polish security,” added the deputy chief of the MON. He besides announced that on 17 March the first Polish officers would leave for the United States for training in the operation of the “ shelter factory”, as he called UBM. American equipment will be delivered to engineering troops in May. They will be received by 16 Jarociński Battalion of Airport Repair and 2nd Engineering Regiment in Inowrocław.
The advantages of UBM were mentioned by Miles A. Penland, Vice president of M.I.C Industries, present at the press conference. He explained that it is an automated device producing finished, decently profiled steel elements of building structures, e.g. hangars, halls, warehouses in a fewer days alternatively than weeks or months, as usual. The UBM crew of 10-12 employees can produce and assemble a 930 m2 structure in 1 day.
Penland pointed out that construction with UBM was not only faster, but besides cheaper. “The cost of building construction utilizing UBM is 40-60% lower than with conventional methods,” said M.I.C Industries vice president. He stressed that the buildings thus created are resistant to utmost climatic conditions, including hurricanes or snowstorms. In addition, the device is mobile, mounted on a trailer and can be transported by road, rail, on board ships or aircraft anywhere in the world.
Both Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamish and Daniel Lawton, the charge d’affaires of the United States Embassy in Poland, stressed present that the agreement on UBM was proof of the strength of the Polish-American alliance. “In the area of cooperation for the safety of NATO’s east flank, we are genuinely united,” said the Minister of Defence. – Buying UBM is simply a large example of our cooperation. The device allows faster and more efficient construction of infrastructure at the border," added Daniel Lawton. He stressed that the resulting military constructions on the east border were an example of Poland's contribution to NATO's collective defence.
