Kosiniak-Kamish stressed, in this respect both the President, the Government, the majority of the parliament, the military and citizens talk with 1 voice. The Minister besides assured his readiness to cooperate with the President's Chancellery on talks about the possible increase in the number of American soldiers in Poland.
The head of the MON reminded that Poland is the 3rd state in Europe (after Germany and Italy) in terms of the number of U.S. troops stationed. There are about 10,000 US soldiers in Poland. Deputy Prime Minister added that Poland participates in the costs of the American troops' stay in our country. – We donate about $15,000 per American soldier per year. This is simply a large investment in safety – said the minister.
General Wiesław Kukuła, Head of the General Staff of the Polish Army, added that at the military level work is underway on changing the expression of the stay of parts of the US troops – from rotational presence to partial permanent presence. "I think that we will make decisions on the military side, which will let to make the right political decisions later," said the head of the SGWP.
Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized that Poland is very keen on the presence of US troops due to the threats from the Russian Federation and Belarus. He besides referred to the increased attacks on the western part of Ukraine in Russia in fresh weeks, which pose a threat to Polish airspace. Kosiniak-Kamysz recalled that allies from Holland or Norway, among others, are helping to defend the Polish sky.

Military exercises iron defense
