During the global Defence manufacture Salon in Kielce, the Polish Armed Forces Group signed 2 large contracts with the Armed Forces Agency. The contracts concern the supply of modern radars and TNT charges and explosives. The suppliers will be PIT-Radwar and Nitro-Chem.
The contract that the military concluded with PIT-Radwarem, applies to the supply of six NUR-12ME radiolocation stations upgraded to the NUR-12MEP version and optionally 3 NUR-12M sets after upgrading to the NUR-12MP variant. Second contract, signed with Nitro-Chem plants, assumes replenishment of TNT and explosives supplies for engineering troops. Details of this order are not given.
NUR stations, utilized in Polish armed forces for respective years, will undergo a thorough upgrade utilizing the technology utilized in Warta radar. - It's the most modern radar. The scope of the upgrade will include the replacement of probe strategy and radar signal treatment methods. The contract besides applies to the training of operators, instructors and service teams. Thanks to this, modernized NUR-12M and NUR-12ME stations will gain completely fresh opportunities. They will be able to detect, track and classify air targets equipped with propulsion, find areas of launch and fall of tactical ballistic missiles, and identify ARM anti-radar missiles targeted at the origin of electromagnetic waves. Radars will besides handle unmanned aircraft and helicopters in the hangar, and the IFF Mark XIIA strategy with Modem S will enable them to identify their ‘aliens’ efficiently. All data collected will be transmitted straight to the radiolocation data collection and analysis systems.
The value of the full contract is about PLN 806 million gross, including PLN 562.7 million is simply a guaranteed contract, and the remaining amount concerns the alleged option right. The modernisation works will start this year, and their completion in the case of the basic contract is planned in 2032 (optional 3 years later).
