Head of MON Norway in Poland. "A short contract"

Deputy Prime Minister, head of MON Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced after gathering with his Norwegian counterpart Tore Sandvik that a fresh agreement on safety and exchange of experience would shortly be signed between countries.

Kosiniak-Kamysz met with the Minister of Defence of Norway in Poznań at the 31st Tactical Aviation Base in Poznań–Krzesinach.

The head of the MON recalled that for respective weeks now the Norwegian F-35 aircraft have been stationed in the base to defend the Polish sky as part of the NATO mission, and Norwegian rocket anti-missile kits are present at the airport in Jasionka close Rzeszów.

Kosiniak-Kamysz said that he and Sandvik adopted a "action plan for this year". As he said, 1 of the most crucial elements of the agreement is the signing of a fresh safety agreement and the exchange of experience between countries, which would become "soon". He noted that the current agreement between Poland and Norway is 30 years old, which is why a fresh agreement is needed to respond to modern threats.

First visit

Sandvik, who has held the position of Minister of Defence of Norway since 4 February, stressed that the visit to Poland is his first after taking office. He said that Poland is taking on a "great responsibility" to support Ukraine.
