On Tuesday, April 29th in the Constitution Square 3 May in Radom, close the Garrison Church, a cast of the MSBS GROT carbine was unveiled – another symbol of Radom, as well as modernity and industrial heritage of the city.
The event was attended by Daniel Wilk, associate of the Management Board of the “Łucznik” weapon mill – Radom Sp. z o.o., as well as the project's originators Symbols Radom – Maciej Stępnikowski, Sebastian Pawłowski, priest of Major Dr. Tomasz Serwin, parish priest of St. Stanislaw Bishop (Church of Garnizonowy) and the author of the cast Sławomir Micek. There were besides residents of Radom as well as soldiers from the Territorial Defence typical Company.
The Constitution Square 3 May at the Garrison Church was not accidentally chosen as the site of the rifle. This is the space where patriotic celebrations are held with the participation of the Polish Army, in which the firearm is equipped in a combat and typical version.
– Today's unveiling of the MSBS GROT firearm casting is an event of peculiar importance for us – both symbolic and emotional. This is not only an honor to the 100-year past of the Weapons Factory, but besides an expression of pride in the accomplishments of our engineers, employees and the full team, which builds all day a brand of modern Polish weapons industry. We are pleased that our product – MSBS GROT carbine – was appreciated as a symbol of Radom, a city with a rich industrial tradition. To this day, the weapon mill has produced and delivered to the Polish Army more than 170,000 of these modern rifles," said Daniel Wilk, associate of the Board of the weapon mill "Łucznik" – Radom sp. z o.o.
The MSBS GROT rifle, a flagship product of the Weapons Factory, was awarded in the form of a cast as an expression of appreciation for the achievements of the Polish arms manufacture and a tribute to the 100-year past of the Weapons mill in Radom. The event took place as part of the Radom Symbols project, which aims to advance the most crucial products of local heritage. GROT carbine casting is already the 23rd symbol of Radom. Of all, as many as 7 are associated with the 100-year operation of the Weapons mill in Radom. Among them, next to the recently unveiled, were the VIS pistol, lock, sewing machine, typewriter and 2 bikes.
