On his 32nd birthday - a gift from the Soviets to Janina Lewandowska was a shot in the back of the head on 22 April 1940 in Katyn...

"In front of me is simply a hollow pit, and in its depths are layers, tight, like sardines in a box, dead bodies. Uniforms, coats, Polish uniforms, belts, buttons, shoes, sprained hair on the skulls, lips any half open.[...] Terrible. Hands and legs intertwined, all pressed like a fight. Grey, dead, line by line, 100 by 1 hundred, innocent, defenseless soldiers.[...] Badges, buttons, belts, eagles, medals. They're not anonymous bodies. Here lies the army." - Józef Mackiewicz, witness to German exhumations in Katyn.

On 22 April 1908, the daughter of Gen. Józef Dowbor-Muśnicki, commander of the Wielkopolska Uprising and First Polish Corps in the East, was born in Kharkov. The second daughter of the general was Agnieszka "Giusia" murdered by the Germans in Palmira at the age of 21, 2 months after the death of a sister given by Russian genocide killers...

Janina Lewandowska went into aviation past as the first female in Europe to skydiving at 5,000 m! In 1939, as a pilot-instructor, she volunteered for the Air Base of the 3rd Air Regiment, with which she passed the conflict way to the east provinces of the Second Republic. Through Trawniki in Lublin, she arrived with the officer's staff to Husiatynia where the Soviets captured them on 22 September 1939 sending everyone to the camp in Ostashkov.

It's inactive known, Katyn, death pits. Janina's corpse was exhumed by the Germans as 1 of the first winter seasons in 1943. The Germans did not uncover information that the body of a female in the WP lieutenant's uniform was found, her skull was sent to Wrocław. The skull yet rested in the household grave of Dowbor-Muśnicki in Lusów, alongside his father, in 2005 the then head of the MON promoted posthumously Janina Lewandowska to Lieutenant.
