Poland remembers and will remember its heroes – provided Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during the solemn capsycznia on the eve of the Day of Memory of the Dead and the Dead in Missions and Military Operations outside the State Borders. On Friday, the celebrations of the Day of Memory of the Deceased and the Dead in Military Missions and Operations outside the State Borders began in Warsaw. On this occasion, the Memorial Square in front of the Veteran Center was attended by representatives of the Polish Army, non-governmental organizations and the closest victims. An honorary post was issued, and candles were lit on the square.
Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz recalled that since the 1950s 123 people have given their lives for their homeland. “We honor them present and honor them,” he stressed. As he said, behind all name on the Memorial Wall stands the communicative of life, devotion to homeland and heroic death. – No substance how many years it takes, the memory of them will last, due to the fact that Poland remembers and will remember its heroes," he added.
Minister ON thanked the Veteran Centre for caring for the families of the fallen and integrating the environment. He besides announced that the institution would besides take care of soldiers who were injured serving on the Polish-Belarusian border. He besides mentioned plans to amend the Veterans Act to supply veterans with compensation. “After a public consultation, we adopted a solution that for all percent of wellness harm will be paid compensation,” said the minister. The changes are besides to be made to the provisions of the Law on Defence of the Motherland – much higher are to be compensation paid to families of soldiers who died on duty.
Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz awarded silver medals for the defence of the country of parents of fallen soldiers. The distinctions were received by representatives of families: Sgt. Piotr Mikułowski, Sgt. Szymon Graczyk, Sgt. Michał Kołek, Sgt. Piotr Marciniak. The manager of the Veteran Center, Colonel Katarzyna Rałędowska, recalled that for 3 years the ceremonial captivation took place on the Memorial Square, where there are besides plaques with names of deceased soldiers on missions. “These are the names of the characters of modern times,” she stressed. The Day of Memory of the Dead and the Dead in Military Missions and Operations outside the State Borders is celebrated on 21 December on the anniversary of the most tragic event in the past of Polish military missions. On that day, in Afghanistan, 5 soldiers of the 20th Bartoszik Armed Brigade were killed as a consequence of a mine explosion: Mł. Chor. Piotr Ciesielski, St. Sgt. Marcin Szczurowski, Sergeant. Łukasz Krawiec, Sergeant. Marek Tomala and Sergeant. Krystian Banach.
Since the 1950s, about 130,000 soldiers and military personnel have served in missions and operations outside the country. 123 of them didn't come home.
