Captain Tadeusz Lutak, 107-year-old hero and oldest tanker in WP history, met with soldiers of the 3rd Podkarpackie Territorial Defence Brigade. This gathering is not only a tribute to the past, but besides an inspiration to future generations.
On Saturday, April 12, 2025, soldiers of the 333th Light Infantry Company of Dębica, part of the 3rd Podkarpackie Territorial Defence Brigade, met a hero at his place of residence. Captain Lutak is not only the oldest tanker in the past of the Polish Army, but besides the oldest man in Poland.
– We feel a large honour that in our region there is specified a prominent figure as Captain Tadeusz Lutak. gathering him is not only a discrimination for us, but besides an inspiration to cultivate military tradition," said Captain Remigius, commander of the 333th Light Infantry Company.
The gathering was an chance to perceive to priceless memories of wartime and to strengthen the intergenerational bond – the foundation of military tradition.
– The staff of generations is not only a symbolic idea, but our regular mission. Captain Lutak's communicative is simply a surviving lesson in patriotism and courage. Soldiers of the 3rd Podkarpackie Territorial Defence Brigade proudly proceed the legacy of the Home Army – they service the local community, they are always ready to act and, like our predecessors, put Homeland in the first place – emphasises Lt. Such initiatives are essential for maintaining the continuity of military traditions and building a strong community based on respect and knowing between generations.

Captain Lutak, ps. “Pancer”, was born on 29 August 1917 in Żarnowa close Strzeżów. In the September 1939 campaign, he served as a tanker under the orders of Gen. Stanisław Maczek. After the war he lived in Strzyżów, where he actively participates in the life of the Kombatant community.
