MON Vice-Chief Cezary Tomczyk reported that Poland will respond in an "adequate way" to Zapad-2025 exercises organized by Russia and Belarus in September. In Poland there will be "large maneuvers" - both Polish and Natovian - he added.
Here's the thing. whether upcoming Belarusian-Russian exercises Zapad-2025 could be a threat to Poland, Cezary Tomczyk was asked on Monday in the online part of the conversation at RMF24. Deputy Minister denied, while adding that "we will respond to these exercises in Belarus both as a Polish army and as NATO".
"Poland will respond to Zapad-2025 exercises which will be in Belarus (...) in an adequate way on the Polish side. In Poland there will be large exercises Polish, Natovian, large maneuvers. Let us besides remember that last year we were dealing with the largest Natov exercises in history, which brought together about 100,000 soldiers. NATO is stronger than Russia" - he said.
The Belarusian-Russian Zapad exercises have been organized all 4 years since 2009.Last manoeuvres Zapad-2021, which active more than 200,000 soldiers, were the largest maneuvers in the western direction since the collapse of the USSR and proved to be part of preparations for the invasion of Ukraine. To ask if "we have any disturbing signals" about this year's exercise, Tomczyk replied that "the signals that concern Russia and Belarus are always worrying".

Vice-President MON was besides asked about the issue the reinforcement of Poland and Europe, including the issue of ammunition production. Tomczyk reported that full efficient lines producing ammunition in Poland are a substance of respective months. "We already produce ammunition today, but we do not have everything, we are dependent in many aspects" - he admitted.
The request to build a full production chain in Poland from basic natural materials to ready-made 155 mm missiles, which will service Kraby and K9, was discussed by Marcin Idzik, a associate of the board of the Polish Armed Forces Group in April. He emphasized that "we are primarily talking about fuses, detonators and gas generators, and above all - about multi-base drugs".
