RECLAMA

"Open day is simply a unique chance to get acquainted with what you will not see on a regular basis, even during a virtual walk around the Military method Academy. At the stands of 8 academic faculties of our University and during group visits you can ask about everything you are curious in" – encouraged during the inauguration of the Open Day Rector-Commander WAT gen. brig. prof. dr hab. Przemysław Wachulak. He pointed out that the university prepares future commanders, officers of the Polish Army, engineers, but together with a group of over 3300 subjects – military students, about 6 1000 civilian students are besides educated in the WAT, in method directions, as well as in defence and safety of the state or state administration.

"War method Academy is primarily associated with education, but it is besides research. These are solutions that we implement to the Armed Forces – technologies specified as Borsuk combat car, MSBS GROT firearm or P-18 long-range radar – developed in technological and industrial consortia with WAT participation. They are besides over 40 student organizations and circles where you can make your interests. In our country, military and civilian education goes hand in hand, so you are in the perfect place to learn and make your talents. I want the mathematicians all the best on their advanced school diplomas, so that they can start their adventure with our University later," concluded the Rector-Commander, beginning the event.

At the booths located at the WAT Apparition Square, visitors could learn first-hand – from WAT students – how to survey in respective twelve military and civilian directions, including certified “perfect directions” and how to combine specified studies with military training. In the departments, visitors could research selected investigation laboratories under the guidance of scientists. The event was accompanied by workshops, demonstrations of technological experiments, presentation of military equipment and university organizations in which WAT students make their interests.

The offer of 8 WAT academic departments included many proposals for workshops, shows and presentations.

The Department of Security, Logistics and Management has prepared decision-making games, hazard simulations and shooting training. The Cybernetics Department invited for a chess duel with NATO's deputy champion, code breaking, and a large format screen show to simulate combat activities. The Electronics Department led workshops with radio station service in the battlefield, meteorological monitoring and display of JASMINE strategy in the command and communication network. The Department of Land Engineering and Geodesia made available a simulator of unmanned military systems, a model and a full functional shelter, and those willing to take training “azimut march” utilizing navigation, but besides busola. The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering introduced visitors to the apparatus to survey human movement, virtual reality strategy and 3D printing techniques. The Department of Mechatronics, Armourment and Aviation organized workshops with military aircraft and helicopters in the hangar, with robot programming, as well as with the deployment and folding of weapons. The Department of fresh Technologies and Chemistry invited chemical and pyrotechnic experiments: colorful chemical reactions, a display of "burning hands", a bulb in liquid nitrogen and controlled explosions. The Optoelectronics Institute presented what the safe work with laser looks like, how to photograph the laser spark and how to image in thermal imaging.

WAT is not only a college, but besides a place to make their own passions and interests in discipline circles and student organizations. Members of the sports sections besides presented their passions during Open Day, including the Sailing Section, which brought – especially for this occasion – a regatta sailboat and the Combat Sports Section.
