Shooting in assault and defence – reflecting the real situation in the field of combat – to tanks, trenched wagons, transporters in motion and infantry groups were trained by soldiers at the camp in Orzysz. This was the most crucial training task in the Iron Gate exercise, which is part of the Iron Defender 25 maneuvers.
This year's biggest maneuvers of the Polish Army do not slow down. At the tank scope and combat vehicles of the Orish range, the soldiers of the 1st Battalion of Tanks of the Crane, subordinate to the 19th Lublin Mechanized Brigade, trained to direct fire in the attack and defence utilizing recently introduced Abrams tanks. In the decently prepared area, the real action of the opponent was mapped, which allowed fire to be conducted for various purposes, including tanks (also dug), transporter in motion and infantry groups. The soldiers had a certain amount of ammunition, knew the overall distribution of the shield field and approximate distances. They inactive had to work out the settings, which means they're tracking the mark and destroying it.
According to Colonel Marcin Komorek, commander of the 1st Battalion of Tanks from the Crane, the biggest challenge for tank crews is to rapidly identify targets, make decisions and destruct the attacking opponent. As he adds, Lublin tankers performed this task for a medal, which was confirmed by assessments – mostly good and very good. There was no shortage. This was another phase preparing tank crews for combat shooting as part of key maneuvering episodes.
