On 14 August 2025, on the eve of the celebration of the Polish Army, a ceremony was organized at the Training Centre of the Territorial Defence Forces, which was an excellent chance to supply promotions, medals, awards and honour the efforts of distinguished soldiers.
The Polish Army Festival is simply a celebration of the full Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland, which is celebrated on 15 August in memory of the winning Warsaw conflict fought during the Polish-bolshevik War in 1920. This conflict was a crucial minute in the war, and the opposition of the Bolshevik invasion by Polish soldiers was a turning point throughout the war.
On the eve of the celebration of the Polish Army, solemn appeals and gatherings are held in various military units in the country, which are an excellent chance to give distinctions to the most well-deserved soldiers. On that day, there are besides final attempts and preparations for the solemn parade, which will begin on 15 August at 12 noon on the Warsaw Wisłostrad. All the people gathered there will be able to see the most modern military equipment, among others, the combat Borsuk infantry cars, Baobab-K overhead mines vehicles, K2 tanks and Abrams, and in the sky will be presented, among others, the F-35, F-16 fighters, and another helicopters and aircraft. During the ceremony we will besides be able to see defiling soldiers of the Training Centre of the Territorial Defence Army along with the banner post of the Toruń unit.
For residents of Toruń and surrounding areas, soldiers besides planned on 15 August) many events as part of the celebration of the Polish Army.
Schedule of the ceremony:
9.45 p.m. – laying flowers at the monument of General Joseph Haller
10 a.m. - Holy Mass in the Garrison Church
11.00 a.m. - March of the participants of the celebrations and subdivisions to the monument of Marshal Józef Piłsudski in Toruń
11.30 a.m. - Military Appeal at the memorial of Marshal Józef Piłsudski:
- submission of a study to the garrison commander by the ceremony commander;
- raising the flag and singing Hymn of the Republic of Poland;
- the presentation of acts of appointment to a higher military rank and honours;
- occasional occurrences
The Memorial Appeal and the Hall of Honor;
- submission by the military assistance of 1 common flower bunch on behalf of all participants of the ceremony;
- Polish Army typical Song;
From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the fresh Town Market, all residents will have an excellent chance to see military equipment equipped with: Training Centre of Territorial Defence Forces, Artillery Training and Armourment Centre of Gen. J. Bema, 6th Geospatial Branch and Defence Association - JS 1909 Toruń ZS "Shot" JP.
