The president of Ukraine reported on Monday at the press briefing that Ukraine and its partners are considering organising a gathering of Ukrainian, Russian, US, EU and UK leaders to end the war.
Zelenski spoke to Trump both before and after his contact with Putin. In his first conversation, the president of Ukraine stressed the request for ceasefire and further sanctions against Russia.
– I have confirmed that Ukraine is ready for direct talks with Russia in any format that will bring results. Turkey, Vatican City, Switzerland - we are considering all possible platforms. Ukraine does not request to be convinced of this, and our representatives are ready to make real decisions in negotiations. We request to make certain that Russia is equally ready for specified productive negotiations," wrote Zelenski on the Telegram.
Zelenski said it was possible to sign a memorandum that would open the way to an agreement ending the war. The paper would include, among others, a evidence of the ceasefire. He besides stated that Putin and Trump were most likely talking about the memorandum project.
"No 1 will retreat our troops from our territories, it is simply a constitutional work - mine and our military. No ultimatum, no 1 will quit their lands, their people, their homes. I don't know what the rules of the memorandum are, but if Russia sets the terms for the withdrawal of our troops from our land, that means they don't want to end the war. due to the fact that they clearly realize that Ukraine will not do so," he noted.

According to Zelenski Trump, Russia believes that Russia is ready to compromise, and direct negotiations between the parties to the conflict are crucial. "It is very crucial for us all that the United States does not distance itself from negotiations and peace, due to the fact that the only 1 curious is Putin," he added.
The president stressed that the ceasefire should be the first step that will let Russia to prove that it truly cares about the end of the war.
"If Russia does not halt killings, it will not release prisoners and hostages, if Putin presents unrealistic conditions, it will mean that Russia continues to drag the war and deserves Europe, America and the full planet to behave appropriately, including responding with additional sanctions. Russia must end the war that it started itself, and it can do so at any time. Ukraine is always ready for peace" – finished the entry.
As we wrote in onTemat.pl, Trump after the talks were finished on Monday, said that "Russia and Ukraine will immediately start negotiations on the ceasefire and, more importantly, the end of the war. The terms of this agreement will be negotiated between the 2 parties. (...) The speech and atmosphere of the conversation were excellent," he wrote.
“Russia is ready to work with Kiev on a memorandum on the future peace treaty,” said Vladimir Putin on Monday as quoted by TASS.
