The transport of 9 K2GF Black Panther tanks, which was landed on Monday at the port of Świnoujście, reached the 15th Giżycka Mechanized Brigade. South Korean machines will be equipped with 2nd Tank Battalion. shortly the training of the next crews will begin.
In early May, the hangers received the first transportation of K2 tanks as the last brigade of the 16th Mechanized Division. The K2 Black Panther tank weighs 55 t and is equipped with a smooth-bore 120 mm cannon, automatic charging strategy and an integrated fire control system. Its auxiliary weapon is simply a 7.62 mm device weapon and a large caliber device weapon (WKM) 12.7 mm. The device is powered by a 1500 hp diesel engine with automatic transmission, it besides has a hydropneumatic suspension strategy (ISU) and a dynamic track tensioning strategy (DTTS). The K2 crew are 3 people.
In 2022 Poland concluded a framework agreement with Hyundai Rotem, which assumes the transportation of a full of 1000 K2 tanks and its colonized developmental version K2PL, together with accompanying vehicles (technical safety wagons, engineering support, etc.), training and logistics package, ammunition supply and manufacturer's method support. The first executive agreement afraid the transportation of 180 K2 tanks from 2022 to 2025.
A fewer weeks ago, Deputy Minister of Defence Paweł Bejda reported that in the Ministry of Defence, an executive agreement No. 2 is being negotiated for the transportation of K2 tanks along with accompanying vehicles.
