Pełczyńska-Nałęcz about personnel consequences for the scandal around KPO
Minister of Funds and Regional Policy Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz was a guest on Thursday of "Morning Talk" on RMF FM. Leading Peter Salak asked if anyone would be liable for the scandal around KPO. The Minister replied in the negative.
– There will be no consequences for the Deputy Ministers or the Ministry in terms of the ministerial part, due to the fact that what discredits ministers and what they are from, cannot let any corruption, no political influence and no own benefits. Nothing like this happened – said Pełczyńska-Nałęcz.
She continued to explain that she had fulfilled her duties, pointing to "1.5 million contracts from European funds". As the minister said, her function is "to guarantee that no gold is wasted."
– If individual shoots or cheats, he is immediately executed and recovered. My second function is that with an iron consequence I make certain that honest entrepreneurs and beneficiaries do not become the subject of political hatred and get them just due to the fact that they have signed contracts – she explained.
She added, "These are the things I do with the full ministry. In no case have we acted in our own favor."
Pełczyńska-Nałęcz about Tusk's reaction
The Minister besides referred to the situation when, before the Council of Ministers, Donald Tusk, welcoming her, said, "all cameras on the Minister." Pełczyńska-Nałęcz assured that she did not take it as a mobbing.
– I'm not a individual who's easy to get off balance and into a state where she feels mobbed. I treat it at a distance, as a kind of gag (...)," she said. She besides clarified the procedures for the control of expenditure and the suspension of payments from KPO to entrepreneurs.
– I've put in a check like that, which before all cash withdrawal, and the cash withdrawal here is being refinanced, which is how the task is ready, I pay the money. Before the money from HoReCy is paid, there will be thorough control, short, quick, then the decision and immediately payment of the money – the minister pointed out.
Let us remind you that Prime Minister Tusk pointed out at the Tuesday's government gathering that the problems with spending funds are due to a hurry.
– The rush was absolutely necessary, due to the fact that this dilemma was based on this: either we will lose this money or we will spend it as shortly as possible so that it besides goes to Polish entrepreneurs, Polish companies – emphasized the head of the government.
