25 couples received the Medal from president Poznań on Friday for Long-term Marriage. "It's beautiful to look at young people making their vows, but it's even more beautiful to meet those who could keep that oath for 50 years"- said Jacek Jaskowiak, president of Poznań. "You are a model not only for your children and grandchildren, but besides for your neighbors and the full Poznań community. In times where compromises are frequently difficult, your common way shows that love, respect and common concern let you to overcome difficulties and enjoy a common life for decades"- adds.
Each of the honored marriages received, in addition to the medal, a congratulations letter and flowers. The couple, together with invited guests, gathered in the White Hall of the city office, besides had the chance to perceive to a short piano concert.
Medals for Long-term Marriage, awarded by the president of Poland, receive couples with at least 50 years of marital experience. To receive them, you must apply to the civilian Office.
