More than 100 people, including soldiers of the 9th Łódź Territorial Defence Brigade and firefighters from the 32nd Tactical Aviation Base participated in rescue services exercises in Zduńska Wola. The Territorials provided first aid, supported the order-keeping services in coordinating rescue operations, assisted in organizing evacuation and securing the crash site.

The intent of the 2025 Rescue way exercise was to improve the cooperation of the various emergency consequence teams, both in the areas of rescue operations and safety of the site. The training was attended by all the most crucial safety services in the region of Dunskowolski, including soldiers from the grace of the 93rd Light Infantry Battalion 9 Łódź Territorial Defence Brigade and military firefighters from 32 Tactical Air Bases.
In addition to military training, police officers, Railway Protection Service and the City Guard, firefighters from the State Fire Service and friends from the volunteer fire brigades, a medical rescue squad from Zdunskowolski region infirmary and representatives of the Zdunska Wola territory Emergency Management Centre were besides trained. In full there were over 100 people and respective fire trucks.
The maneuvers were carried out in the Locomotive and method Devices Open Open Air, a branch of the Zduńska Wola City past Museum, and in the vicinity of the Zduńska Wola Karsznice railway station, 1 of the most crucial railway junctions in the region.

Rescue services went into action erstwhile they received information about a freight and passenger train collision. 27 people were injured in the crash: 25 passengers, driver and conductor. The first firemen arrived at the scene to conduct first segregation of the wounded. The paramedics then gave the victims qualified first aid. Persons who did not require hospitalization were evacuated by buses planted by the Municipal Communication Company. 2 injured passengers who left the train on their own were found respective 100 metres from the crash site. Firefighters utilized a thermovision drone to search.
The freight train that participated in the collision had a dangerous cargo in its warehouse – a tanker with ammonia. Due to its possible to leak and the threat of contamination, firefighters who set water curtains to partially neutralise the threat proceeded to action. They besides shouted alarm sirens to inform residents of the close settlement of the possible threat of ammonia spill. Fortunately, everyone knew it was just a drill.

On the another hand, soldiers from 9 ŁBOT took part in the maneuvers erstwhile they arrived at the site of the crash and joined in providing qualified first aid to the victims and supported the orderly services in coordinating rescue operations. The Territorials besides helped police officers and city guards organize escape corridors and safe the crash site.
– As soldiers of territorial defence troops, we are prepared to deal with hard crisis situations, both during peace and conflict. It is our work to support local communities and emergency services in emergency situations", said Colonel Rafał Okniański, commander of 93 BLP. He added that specified exercises are an chance for his soldiers to improve procedures and to test their skills in practice.
