Soldiers with officials under the Ministry of abroad Affairs patrol places peculiarly susceptible to hostile activities: railway lines, bridges, communication nodes. President Karol Nawrocki issued yesterday a decision to launch Operation Horizon. The national defence minister decided that from 21 November 2025 to 28 February 2026 units of the armed forces would be directed to assist police in securing critical infrastructure. The military will coordinate Operations Command of Types of Armed Forces. The Horizon Task Force was appointed to carry out the tasks, to which Brig. Gen. Marcin Siudziński, Deputy Commander of Territorial Defence Forces, was appointed as commander.
DORSZ will have up to 10,000 soldiers from various types of troops, including territorial defence, cyberspace defence, peculiar units, engineering units and recently appointed drone troops. The operational command will decide where and what forces to deploy. ‘Horizon 2020’ is response to train derailment tests on the Warsaw–Lublin route, which occurred a fewer days ago.
