Russian-Ukrainian War (as of morning 08.08.2025):

  • The Russians made a series of landings on the western part of Dnieper, close its mouth. The fights proceed just under Cherson and in the city itself (the Ostrow District). It is not clear at the minute whether it is an introduction to trying to re-capture the city, or simply a large diversional-disclosure action, calculated to force the greater forces of the opponent needed elsewhere.
  • Russian forces took the intersection of roads in Stepnohirsk. Therefore, the anticipation of supplying the Zaporozh defence there was cut off.
  • Struggles are underway for the center of Pokrovska, where the Russians successively enlarge the corridor from Zwirowo. Ukrainian defence is inactive weakening, and reinforcements are not coming due to the fact that they are just gone. At the same time, close Udna is attacked. According to local Russian commanders, the collapse of the village is simply a substance of days.
  • Ukrainians managed to halt Russian advance advancement on the Rodynskie prefield. This was, of course, at the expense of the pokrovsk defence.
  • On the Kostiantini section, Katerinika's defence collapsed. Thus, south of the Kleban-Byk reservoir there are no more major Ukrainian forces, but only isolated opposition points and groups of stragglers, trying to cross the another bank.
  • New Russian attacks on Siwiersk and Zariczne. No crucial advancement has been made so far.
  • Russia has shifted considerable force to Belarus. The origin is the yearly “Zapad” exercise, but it is never known if this time it will be a cover for the invasion from the north, which Ukrainians, due to the exhaustion of reserves and shortages in the cast of units fighting on the front, would have nothing to stop.
  • Donald Trump announced that he would meet Vladimir Putin, even if he did not meet Volodymyr Zelenski earlier. The American president began to soften his position. He replied evasively, claiming that “the ball is on the side of Russia”.
