The Polish Army will receive U.S. AGM-88G AARGM-ER anti-radiolocation missiles designed to destruct enemy air defence systems. The agreement was signed by Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamish. The contract includes the transportation of more than 200 missiles for F-35 fighters along with a logistics and training package. The order value is about $745 million.
– We start a fresh period of investment in Polish security. We signed a very crucial agreement on operational capabilities, especially F-35 aircraft," said Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. At the office of the Ministry of Defence, a contract was concluded present for the transportation of more than 200 AGM-88G AARGM-ER anti-radiolocation missiles. The head of the MON explained that Poland buys missiles for F-35 fighters, which they find, track and fight against the enemy's air defence and rocket systems. – This is simply a breakthrough purchase, due to the fact that only erstwhile we have full equipped F-35, we are able to effectively usage all the capabilities of these state-of-the-art machines and skills of Polish pilots – argued Kosiniak-Kamish.
For more than 200 AGM-88G, the military will pay about $745 million. "This is simply a large investment of taxpayers in security, for which I thank them very much," said the Deputy Prime Minister. He added that deliveries would take place from 2029 to 2035.
Attending the gathering Gen. Dyw. pil. Ireneusz Nowak emphasized the advantages of the rocket purchased today. “The signed contract of the spin will bind the issue of equipping F-35 aircraft with top-class weapons,” said the Air Force Inspector. He explained that the Polish F-35 will now have active weapons, which allows to effectively destruct radars driving the fight and break the enemy's air defence. – We join the elite club of users of these missiles, in which there are besides Australia, the Netherlands and Finland outside the US – mentioned Gen. Nowak.

The head of the MON recalled that to sale Poland missiles had to be agreed by the U.S. government. “We buy the best equipment, strengthen the Polish-American alliance and invest in our security,” said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. He recalled that our country spends almost 5% of GDP for this purpose.
AGM-88G AARGM-ER (Advanced Anti-radiation Guided rocket – Extended Range) is the latest generation of anti-radiolocation missiles manufactured by the American corp Northrop Grumman. They are utilized to destruct various types of radio-location stations, the most crucial component created by enemy anti-aircraft and anti-missile defence zones. Their heads detect electromagnetic waves emitted by radars and then destruct their origin utilizing an explosive charge. Poland bought AGM-88G AARGM-ER together with a logistics and training package.
