According to tradition, the village of Dixville Notch, fresh Hampshire, was the first in the country to cast votes in the presidential election. Kamala Harris and Donald Trump ended this duel with a draw.
The village of Dixville Notch is inhabited by only 6 people. Everyone voted immediately after midnight local time (in Poland it was 6 am). The results were announced almost immediately.
The sympathy of voters at Dixville Notch, of which 4 are registered Republicans, and 2 are independent voters, spread evenly between presidential candidates, 3-3. However, as many as 5 people cast their votes for Republican state politician candidate Kelly Ayotte. Interestingly, in 2020, 5 of the then voters from this town, among whom there was only 1 Republican, gave their votes to Joe Biden.
In Dixville Notch, the results are already known, but the remainder of the state of fresh Hampshire and another states on the east coast will start voting at 7am local time. Election venues in most states will be open until late evening, and the full election process will end in Alaska and Hawaii, where the venues will close at the latest.
