The WOT Training Center soldiers at the Best Warrior Competition in Illinois in the United States won 2 silver medals in terms of: sub-commissioners and privates. This is the historical success of the WP soldiers. “The biggest challenge was to march for a distance of 12 miles in full gear,” said Sgp. Michał Marciszewski “With support we got to the finish line,” adds Szer. David Shuman.

This year's edition of the "Illinois Army National defender Best Warrior Competition" competition was held on 4–6 April in Sparta Training Area, Illinois. 2 soldiers from the Training Center attended the invitation of the organizers to the US WOT. St. kpr. Michał Marciszewski ranked 2nd in the category of sub-commissioners, while the general. Kamil Shuman won silver in the private category.

Cf. Krzysztof Wójcik, a press officer of the Training Centre of the Territorial Defence Forces, emphasizes that this is simply a historical feat, due to the fact that so far the representatives of the HR have failed to win the podium at these competitions. Competition was highly hard and exhausting due to the fact that participants had to compete in many competitions investigating their general military knowledge, cognition of combat rescue, communication, physical fitness, and a good eye in shooting competitions.

Both players admit that the biggest challenge was moving with full equipment and weapons at a distance of 12 miles. The last 2 miles were the hardest for me. I struggled with the joints of the quadruped thighs, which blocked my ability to lift my legs higher. We fought to the finish – confesses St. He adds that although the march was individual competition, both Poles tried to walk close together, according to the assumption: together we flew, together we operate, together we finish and together we return. “This motivated and pushed us forward,” she notes.

RECLAMA

Szer. David Shuman assessed the organization and course of the competition very well. – I am glad that we are back on Polish soil. And that we have reported the Polish flag to the end of the competition – he says.

It turns out that an additional difficulty for our players was the fact that during the starts they had to show a cognition of American equipment that they had no contact with all day. They had only a fewer hours to get to know him, but as it turned out, it was not an obstacle to successfully compete with the best American soldiers in the state of Illinois.

The Best Warrior Competition is an yearly event organized by the Illinois Army National defender (Illinois State National Guard) to choice and honor the most talented and resilient soldiers. It aims to test their physical fitness, military knowledge, accuracy in shooting, tactical proficiency, leadership ability and intellectual resilience. Competitions consist of a series of competitions whose script is based on actual combat tasks.

Representative of the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw Major Kyle J. Ullmark, assessing the performance of our soldiers, emphasizes that they both took 2nd place in the general classification of the Illinois Army National Guard, which has about 10,000 soldiers. Which means they competed with soldiers who were among the best in Illinois and proved to be excellent, well-trained warriors. “I would fight to service alongside these soldiers,” he said.
