A dangerous incidental involving a drunk driver occurred in Zakroczym Municipality. A 27-year-old Ukrainian citizen who had a judicial ban on driving drove into a ditch. A breathalyst test showed nearly 2.4 alcohol. It besides turned out that the man was wanted by the Polish judiciary.
Application for a car in a ditch
On 15 May 2025, after 1 p.m., customs and taxation officials noticed in the village of the Volkswagen Freedom in the ditch and 2 men standing next to it. The study went to the police, which immediately sent a patrol to the scene.

No 1 confessed to driving.
A 27-year-old and 38-year-old were transported to the police station where a breathalyst test was conducted. The results were alarming:
- younger man – almost 2.4 alcohol,
- older – nearly 2.9 promila.
At first, no of them confessed to driving, so they went to police custody.
After he got sober, he confessed.
The next day, erstwhile both were sober, a 27-year-old admitted that he was driving Volkswagen. erstwhile checking his data in police systems, it turned out that:
- He was wanted under a court order for unpaid fines,
- had to service 30 days in prison,
- a judicial ban on driving.
Police have secured a car belonging to a 27-year-old. The man was assigned to a prison unit, where he would be discharged. Now he is facing another trial – for driving under the influence of alcohol and breaking the court order threatens him up to 5 years in prison.
Summary
This is another case that shows how irresponsible road behaviour can lead to serious legal consequences. The driver not only broke the law, driving after alcohol, but besides ignored an earlier court order.
Drunk Ukrainians on the roads become the norm in Poland. The worst part of this is that politicians of the present coalition, as well as those who hold the authorities before the elections, have underestimated the crime committed by Ukrainians who have been allowed into our country without a compatible nation.
