Police officers from the Krasnostaw road stopped a 56-year-old Ukrainian citizen who not only violated traffic regulations, but besides tried to bribe officers to avoid consequences. A man is facing 10 years in prison for attempted corruption.

Illegal overtaking and speeding

Officers from the Krasnostaw Road Traffic Division of the command in Bończa noticed a Fiat driver who was ahead of the intersection and then greatly exceeded the allowed speed. After stopping the vehicle, it turned out that there was a 56-year-old Ukrainian citizen behind the wheel.

Mandate for $2600 and attempted bribery

Police officers have imposed a fine on the driver of PLN 2600 for wrongdoing. In consequence a man pulled out $200 and offered a bribe in exchange for a waiver from punishment. The officers immediately responded – they stopped the driver and put him in police custody.

Even 10 years in prison

According to Polish law, the effort to bribe a public officer is simply a crime threatened by punishment up to 10 years imprisonment. A 56-year-old will shortly face trial, where he will hear the charges.
