President Volodymyr Zelenski gave a speech on the triumph of Ukrainian forces in the Kherson Oblast.
Today we all feel the excitement together. I do not know if there is 1 individual among us who has not yet watched recordings of the gathering of our Chersonians with Ukrainian defenders.
Months of Russian occupation, months of mockery from our nation, months of stories that Russia is supposedly there forever... Yet there is simply a sea of Ukrainian flags on the streets. People didn't even think about giving up Ukraine. And the planet sees it now. He sees what it means erstwhile Ukrainians meet their own. He sees what the unity of the Ukrainians means. And he sees why we should free all our land from invaders.
We will witness many more of these meetings. In those cities and villages that are inactive under occupation. We won't forget anyone, we won't leave anyone behind. Thanks to our defence and diplomacy we will definitely go to our state border – to all sections of the internationally recognized border of Ukraine.
As of this evening, the defensive forces took control in more than 60 localities of the Kherson region, police began stabilizing operations. The stabilization activities besides proceed in Kherson itself.
Everywhere in the liberated territory, our explosives technicians have quite a few work to do. Almost 2,000 explosives have already been removed – mines, serpentines and blasts.
Before fleeing Cherson, the occupiers destroyed all critical infrastructure – communication, waterworks, heat, electricity... Rascists everywhere have the same goal – maximum abuse of people. But we'll bring everything back. Believe me. Although it takes time, it is clear to everyone that the consequence will be ours, Ukrainian.
It is very crucial now to inform all Chersons to exercise caution and not effort to check the buildings and objects left by the occupiers themselves. Please, if you have any contact with the residents of the city, give them this.
There are 10 groups of explosives technicians working in Kherson, police, various units of defense. Today, unfortunately, 1 of our bomb squads was injured while demining the administrative building. Therefore, dear citizens of Kherson, we ask you to be careful and inform the police or paramedics about the suspicious items you will see.
The same applies to residents of another settlements in liberated territory. delight be careful. This is very important.
I would like to address separately present all our military personnel, who are in another areas of the front, to all those who care about our safety at borders, to all those who defend Ukraine in the air and at sea, to all those who work for the defence in the back.
This success in the South has become possible thanks to the fact that all our defenders are doing their occupation well. The words of thanks that our defenders in the Kherson region now hear are words of thanks to you all. To all those who fight for Ukraine, who work for our triumph and who at their level aid and accomplish the results that our country needs.
And especially these are words of thanks to those who endure Russian attacks on the Donetsk region – there is just hell. There are highly violent battles going on all day. But our units defend themselves bravely, defy the terrible force of the occupiers, and keep our defensive lines. This is very important. With strong defence there, in the Donetsk Oblast, we can conduct offensive actions in another directions. Thank you to all our soldiers who defend Ukraine in these peculiarly hard battles. Pavlovka, Maryinka, Primo-Mai, Avdijiwka...
The first and second battalion of the 36th separate Marine Brigade, the 79th separate assault brigade, the 72nd separate Mechanized Brigade, the 68th separate Hunting Brigade, the 110th separate Mechanized Brigade, the 56th separate Infantry Brigade, the motorized and 55th separate artillery brigade of the “Sich Zaporoska” brigade which supports all... Thank you, soldiers, for your integrity, for your bravery!
And I join with the thanks and wishes I've already heard from the Cherson residents from our militants from the 28th and 63rd separate mechanized brigade and the 59th separate motorized infantry brigade, our scouts, our peculiar Operations Forces and the National Guard. Thank you very much for your superb work on the liberation of Cherson!
The same will be actual in Genichesk and Melitopol. We will besides come to all our cities and villages of Donbas. We will surely see how Ukrainian forces in Crimea meet the Ukrainian flags they hold there, and hundreds of them will go out on the streets on the day of liberation.
