With the beginning of the holiday, the Polish educational and profile run #YourLifeYourChart, which is organized by the Police office and the La Strada Foundation. The aim of the action is to rise awareness among young people about the risks of trafficking in human beings, peculiarly in the context of trips abroad and seasonal work.
Vacations and seasonal trips – time of increased risk
June is simply a minute erstwhile many young people – mainly seniors and students – plan abroad business trips. It's besides a time erstwhile criminals usually hunt their victims. According to the Police, between 2017 and 2024 295 alleged victims of human trafficking were identified in Poland – both Polish citizens (135 people) and foreigners, including from the Philippines (80 people), Ukraine (25 people) and Bulgaria (18 people).
These crimes took various forms:
- 32% active forced labour and slavery,
- 23% sexual exploitation,
- 8% beggars,
- 37% included another forms of use, including fraud of social benefits and loans.
– Trafficking in human beings is simply a serious crime that is constantly evolving," he emphasises mp. Monika Golik, Deputy manager of the Criminal Bureau of the KGB. In her opinion, prevention is crucial, as young people frequently make decisions under the influence of the minute without knowing the real dangers. – The perpetrators can manipulate, inspire trust and make false relationships. Only awareness and caution can prevent tragedy," he adds.
How does the #YourLifeCart run work?
The central point of the run is simply a video spot, whose script is set in the fairy's office. Symbolic tarot cards show possible scenarios of life decisions: knowing the alleged loveboy, going to dream work, or contacting the police that can aid avoid danger.
The movie tells of a young girl who, by drawing out more cards, “watches” the possible paths of her life and realizes that all decision has consequences. The creators wanted the place to have a strong emotional message, but avoided drastic images. Work on the set lasted respective days, and implementation was supported, among others, by Non halt movie Service and Pyramid Film.
Education and aid: you are not alone
– Going abroad does not request to be a threat – crucial to make informed decisions – he explains Irena Dawid-Olczyk, president of the La Strada Foundation. For years, the organisation has been supporting people at hazard of trafficking in human beings and encouraging them to contact anonymously in case of uncertainty before the situation gets out of control. “We never say “don’t go”, we just show where to stay and check the facts.”
The run besides includes educational material on social mediaincluding:
- quizzes and relationships with applicable advice,
- reelsy involving police officers,
- instructions on how to recognise the alleged red flags, i.e. informing signals,
- alarm numbers and contacts to relief organizations.
It is not a problem “from newspapers” – it is simply a real threat
Organizers emphasize that human trafficking is not a distant problem. “Man and drama stand behind all statistic,” he says. Insp. Katarzyna Nowak, spokeswoman of the Chief Police. The run was designed to scope young people at the time of crucial decisions: departure, work, relationships.

Spot formations
The place was realised in respective locations in Warsaw. Police personnel and amateur actors took part in the production: Monika Wsolak, Weronika Miezancew and Artur Adamczyk.
