Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin spoke on Thursday "almost an hr about the negotiated solution on Ukraine". However, as the Kremlin said, "Russia will not go back on its goals".
Trump and Putin spoke again
According to Reuters, Yuri Uszakov told journalists that the conversation lasted almost an hour, and both leaders expressed their desire to "search for a negotiated solution" to the conflict in Ukraine. Trump raised the subject of a fast end to the fighting.
According to Uszakov, Russia's position is that peace talks in Ukraine should be held straight between Moscow and Kiev. Putin and Trump did not talk about halting supplies of American weapons to Ukraine.
They discussed Iran and the situation in the mediate East in detail. Both leaders agreed to proceed their discussions.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenski believes U.S. president Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin have fewer common topics to talk about, but Ukraine supports the thought of an American leader to unconditionally suspend his arms.
Comment by Zelenski
– I don't know, I'm not certain they have much in common to talk about due to the fact that they're completely different people. But if we are talking about Ukraine, we have supported president Trump's thought of unconditional ceasefire from the very beginning," said Zelenski during a press conference, as quoted by Interfax-Ukraine.
The president recalled that Ukraine is ready for any format of the meeting. – And I think that in Russia only Putin truly makes decisions. A gathering at the leadership level is so needed. We truly want peace," said Zelenski.
In fresh months, there has been a crucial increase in the strength of Russian attacks in Ukraine, including utilizing Iranian Shahed drones. Unfortunately, the victims of these actions are civilians who lose their lives or endure serious injuries.
