Meeting with the Prime Minister
Donald Tusk met with the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenski today. According to “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna”, the Ukrainian leader's visit to Warsaw is connected with the exhumation of Polish UPA victims. Last week Prime Minister Tusk announced crucial advancement on the issue of exhumation in Volyn.
The president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenski, who stayed in Warsaw, pointed out that real safety guarantees for Ukraine could guarantee its membership in the European Union and NATO. Prime Minister Donald Tusk expressed his religion that during the current Polish Presidency of the EU Council, accession negotiations could be moved forward.
Tusk besides stated:
We will not repeat our predecessors' mistakes. Meeting with the President
The president of Ukraine then met with Andrzej Duda. A press conference was later held.

Previous visit of Zelenski
Let us remind that the last visit of the president of Ukraine to Warsaw took place last July. At that time, president Zelenski and Prime Minister Tusk signed an agreement on safety cooperation, to which Poland, alongside another countries, undertook at the NATO summit in Vilnius in 2023.
In December last year Tusk met Zelenski in Lviv and later, on the occasion of the European Council in Brussels, to which the president of Ukraine was invited.
