Rafał Trzaskowski addressed straight his counter-candidate, Karol Nawrocki, with a proposal for a debate to be held in Koński. Will the PiS candidate take this glove?

On Wednesday, April 9, a candidate for the Civic Coalition for the office of president published a fresh entry on platform X. "Friday. April 11th. 8:00. Honest rules, the biggest TV. I'm waiting. Courage, Mr. Nawrocki," he wrote.

Rafał Trzaskowski addressed Karol Nawrocki directly. In the first frames we see him watching a recording in which the president of the IPN says, "I would like to call Rafał Trzaskowski to the debate". The president of Warsaw decided to respond.

– Mr. Karol Nawrocki, I hear you want to debate. Come in. I'm just informing you, we'll gotta answer the questions of journalists. It's Friday at 8:00. I'm waiting for you in Horses. Do you have adequate courage? – he said.

Presidential debate

As we wrote on Temat.pl, in consequence to the expectations of the citizens, the 3 largest stations – TVP, TVN and Polsat – agreed on organising a joint presidential debate. It is scheduled to take place on Monday, May 12, at 8:00 p.m. and will be broadcast simultaneously on the antennas of all 3 broadcasters. Details, specified as who will lead it, are not yet known.

The debate is to take place in accordance with Article 120 of the Electoral Code, which obliges tv Poland to supply media space to all registered committees.

In practice, however, this may mean serious time constraints – if there are 17 candidates in the debate, then with a standard duration (about 90 minutes), each of them will receive only about 4–5 minutes to introduce themselves and answer questions.

Let us remind that tv Republic besides planned its own presidential debate to be held on 14 April at 20:00. Transmission will be available on both tv and online. The station informed that the "head" candidates were invited.

The event was confirmed by 8 candidates: Artur Bartosiewicz, Szymon Hołownia, Grzegorz Braun, Sławomir Mentzen, Joanna Senyszyn, Marek Jakubiak, Adrian Zandberg and Karol Nawrocki. However, Rafał Trzaskowski, and the Left candidate Magdalena Biejat, resigned from the debate organised by right-wing television.
