This poll says everything. The Poles expressed their voice in the debate: it was more definitely impossible

As many as 17 candidates submitted for the election and most of them were already registered by PKW. In this electoral atmosphere, the Poles clearly express their expectations – they want a debate in which candidates will present their programs and face an open discussion – according to a survey commissioned by the "Super Express".

The poll conducted by the Pollster investigation Institute commissioned by the "Super Express" shows that as many as 85 percent of Poles want a presidential debate with the participation of all candidates. Only 6% of respondents were opposed, and 9% did not have an opinion on the matter.

This consequence leaves no uncertainty – citizens want to be able to compare candidates not only on the basis of electoral slogans, but besides their behaviour in direct clashes. This is peculiarly crucial erstwhile a evidence number of candidates apply for office.

Record crowd in the election. Who will fight?

On Friday, April 4, the deadline for signing support for presidential candidates expired. The State Election Commission has already registered 11 names. Among them are Rafał Trzaskowski (KO), Szymon Hołownia (Third Road), Karol Nawrocki (supported by the Law), Magdalena Biejat (Levice), Adrian Zandberg (Together), Grzegorz Braun and Sławomir Mentzen (both associated with the Confederation), Artur Bartoszewicz, Joanna Senyszyn, Marek Jakubiak and Marek Woch.

Six more candidates – including Krzysztof Stanowski, who declares to collect as many as 4 million signatures – await verification by PKW. If their candidatures are approved, there will be as many as 17 names on the ballot – which would be an absolute evidence in the past of the 3rd Polish presidential election.

When's the presidential debate?

In consequence to citizens' expectations, 3 major stations – TVP, TVN and Polsat – agreed to hold a joint presidential debate. It is scheduled to take place on Monday 12 May at 8:00 p.m. and will be broadcast simultaneously on the antennas of all 3 broadcasters. This information is confirmed by the Virtualemedia.pl portal, although the details – including the leading members – are inactive in the conciliation phase.

The debate is to take place in accordance with Article 120 of the Electoral Code, which obliges tv Poland to supply media space to all registered committees. In practice, however, this may mean serious time constraints – if there are 17 candidates in the debate, then with a standard duration (about 90 minutes), each of them will receive only about 4–5 minutes to introduce themselves and answer questions.

The survey was carried out by the CAWI method from 31 March to 1 April 2025 on a typical example of 1,007 adult Poles.
