In the case of the GROM Military Unit, the communicative made a happy circle. Writing about GROM, it is placed in 1 line with the American Delta Force and Navy SEALs and the British SAS. These names do not request to be translated even on a medium-oriented military issue: it is an elite coded SMU – peculiar Mission Unit or Tier 1 (level one), which means peculiar units intended to execute the most important, delicate and usually secret operations serving the strategy and safety of the state and its citizens. It is besides stressed that the GROM took on the best models in this respect from the Americans and the British, and then the "student" passed the exams and confirmed their value to its "masters", frequently surpassing them during many missions from Haiti starting, through erstwhile Yugoslavia, and to Afghanistan and Iraq ending. Importantly, the GROM proved to be the forpost of the Western standards of the Polish Army before Poland joined NATO and undoubtedly the admiration it aroused, and the assurance that the specialists enjoyed among the Americans, influenced this accession.
Given all of this, we must remember 1 more crucial issue: in the creation of the GROM, the best Western patterns were used, but his soldiers had their own tradition. Moreover, it was besides associated with these Western patterns, and even co-created them, and in this sense it is stated that the communicative in the case of GROM has been successful. Of course it's about silent – paratroopers trained in the UK and sent to support the Home Army. The silent were among the best among the multinational elite of specialists trained by the British SOE. They never formally formed a compact unit, had no colors or banners. Dumped to occupied Poland, under pseudonyms, with false papers were in conflict with the enemy "silent and effective". Today their traditions are maintained by the GROM Military Unitwhich refers to the silent by colours, banners and works.
AK Paratroopers They undoubtedly classify themselves as SMU, but they were not the only specialists who influenced the improvement and past of peculiar units in the West. After all, instructors from the Polish Independent Grenadiers Company trained at the end of planet War II and after it ended American soldiers from the peculiar Allied Airborne Reconnaissance Force – SAARF. They not only trained the American peculiar Allied Air Force, but besides participated in its peculiar actions. At the end of the war they consisted primarily of mastering and securing German POW camps in which Allied prisoners were held. So besides here is simply a parallel with GROM, due to the fact that 1 of its main tasks was and is to rescue from oppressions of his and his allies in enemy territory or imprisoned by enemies. And it all started at the French camp in the spring of 1944, erstwhile the Americans saw what Polish specialists from Independent Grenadier Company.
Since the very beginning of its existence, GROM has not only cultivated the traditions of the silent, but besides cared for those of them who lived to see free Poland and to make an individual of their name. How they perceived their “younger colleagues” full expressed the last of the surviving jumpers (changed in 2022)Captain. Aleksander Tarnawski “Płaz”“ For GROM soldiers, I have a peculiar sympathy, due to the fact that there truly is simply a sincere warmth. Professionals. I think they're here to keep the war from happening. [...] I admit that I like GROM. Everyone calls each another by name, which doesn't mean there's no discipline. I guess that's what this is all about: friendly relationships, but not exclusive of iron discipline. They must trust on each other, trust each other.” That's what happened in the quiet, that's what happens in the GROM.
Finally, 1 more similarity: both quiet and GROM specialists were typical and the best. To jump in the country, the most valuable soldiers in Polish Armed Forces units were sought, among others, the 1st Independent Paradox Brigade. It was akin with the formation of GROM 35 years ago. At that time, soldiers from the 6th Infantry and Assault Brigade (now the Airborne), 1st Assault Battalion, 56th peculiar Company, peculiar Pellet Groups (now Formoza), police anti-terrorists went to the recently created unit. They were the first to stand under a banner on which 2 dates appear: 16 February 1941 – the first silent drop to Poland and 13 July 1990 – authoritative creation of a GROM; “13” – a symbolic GROM number and its sign – a quilting eagle holding a golden lightning (grom) in its clutches, as well as the sign of the AK Spadochronists – a quilting eagle holding a laurel wreath in its bow with the anchor of the Fighting Poland inscribed inside.
