TV Republic has planned its own presidential debate. As the station claims, only "leading" candidates were invited to the interview. He will present his programs and views to 8 candidates, but 2 loud names will be missing. That's why.


The presidential debate organized by tv Republic will be held on 14 April at 20 p.m. Transmission will be available on both tv and online. The station informed that the "head" candidates were invited. As noted in the Communication: "This gathering will be a key chance to learn about rival programs and their positions on issues applicable to the future of the country".

The event was confirmed by 8 candidates: Artur Bartosiewicz, Szymon Hołownia, Grzegorz Braun, Sławomir Mentzen, Joanna Senyszyn, Marek Jakubiak, Adrian Zandberg and Karol Nawrocki. During the draw held on 8 April, the order of speeches was established in each round.

A typical of KO Rafał Trzaskowski and candidate of the Left Magdalena Biejat, who made a strong message on the matter, resigned from the debate organised by right-wing television.

Why is Biejat missing?

Magdalena Biejat explained her decision on social media. She wrote, "Since I've been in politics, I always accept the invitations to debate, besides erstwhile my counter-candidates rejected them. I am where the voters are – on the streets, in open meetings, in conventional and social media. tv Republic, however, will stay an exception to this rule".



Her decision was justified by the fact that, in her opinion, the station "has already crossed the limits of civilised public debate". In the following part of the entry she added: "Her stars have for years initiated attacks on minorities, women, protesting young people, activists, teachers and all who had the courage to argue abuse of erstwhile power".

The Left candidate besides recalled that: "TV The Republic is present taking the defence of specified people as Dariusz Matecki or Marcin Romanowski. At the same time, without any scruples, he continues to jinx social activists, public figures, politicians of another options and their families. It was on this air that migrants were sent to the Auschwitz camp, that threats of death fell towards members of the government without a reaction leading and issued hateful material about WŚP, after which Jerzy Owsiak was besides threatened with death".

What about Trzaskowski?

The second candidate who will not appear in the debate is Rafał Trzaskowski. tv Republic informed of his absence, but his staff did not communicate the authoritative reasons for this decision.

Both candidates will participate in the authoritative presidential debate organized in accordance with the electoral code, jointly by 3 stations: TVP, TVN and Polsat. It will take place on 12 May at 20 p.m. and will be broadcast simultaneously on all 3 televisions.
