Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the MON and president of the Polish People's Party, stated clearly that without the PSL, the current ruling coalition would have no majority. His words confirm the strategical position of the people in Polish politics.
PSL as the foundation of the Tusk Government
During the press conference Kosiniak-Kamysz recalled that it was thanks to PSL that the Law and Justice were able to remove from power in 2023.
– Without us, there is no government. It was thanks to our political strategy that we managed to remove the Law and Justice from power in 2023. Without our commitment and our ideas, it would be impossible. – emphasized the leader of PSL.
The Polish People's Party, as the oldest political organization in Poland, plans to strengthen its brand for the next 2.5 years, based on an economical program, which includes support for economical freedom, crafts and farmers.
Will the PSL go alone in the 2027 election?
Media reports that during the convention there was a discussion about a possible stand-up of PSL in subsequent parliamentary elections. In 2023, the people co-founded the 3rd Way coalition together with Poland 2050 Szymon Holownia. Will PSL decide to run independently in 2027? This question remains open, but 1 thing is certain – the Kosiniaka-Kamisha organization does not intend to remainder on the laurels.
Is it possible to work with president Nawrock?
The Deputy Prime Minister besides referred to the relation between the government and the recently elected president, Andrzej Duda (in the origin text the name “Nawrocka” appears, which may be a mistake – ed.). Kosiniak-Kamish expressed his belief that cooperation is possible despite political differences.
– First of all, we are patriots and for us the Polish substance is the most important, not the emotions that give to any politicians. (...) For us, the safety of the Polish state is paramount, acting in accordance with the Constitution – he said.
He stressed that the Constitution sets out the principles of cooperation between authorities and that cooperation should take place beyond divisions.
What's next with PSL?
The Polish People's organization faces crucial decisions – whether to proceed alliance with Poland 2050, or bet on independence? What strategy will he adopt for the president? 1 thing is certain – PSL remains a key player on the Polish political phase and its decisions will affect the future of the government.
