When Japan declared war on Russia in 1904, the Tsar army command was given to Gen. Kuropatkin, who tried to halt the enemy in the large conflict of Mukden. In the end he failed, and the defeat of the tsarist army affected not only the destiny of Russia, but, consequently, besides the past of the full 20th century.
