In the parish in Szymbark (Pomeranian Province) Holy Masses were celebrated in the intention of Karol Nawrocki and Sławomir Mentzen. The case has outraged any parishioners. Fr Mirosław Wensierski, the parish priest, explained that "the masses for presidential candidates are not his idea, but it is simply a parishioner initiative." The priest noted that "messes are not celebrated in the intention of triumph in the election of a given candidate, but for grace and wellness for him and his loved ones."

– So far, 2 intentions have emerged for candidates with 2 different policy options. If individual asks for mass for a presidential candidate, I have no reason to refuse. We are all children of God," Fr. Wensierski said.
