On Sunday, June 8, this year, Wałbrzych finished the 8th Territorial Defence Army Championship in futsal. The highest place of the podium was the squad consisting, among others, of soldiers of the Training Centre for Territorial Defence. Nearly 200 players from the full country took part in the competition.
On 5–8 June 2025, during the 8th Territorial Defence Army Championships in futsal, 20 WOT soldiers stood up to compete for the title of champion in hall ball. At the Aqua Zdrój sports and amusement hall in Wałbrzych, the best were footballers from the squad exhibited by soldiers: WOT Training Center, Communication and Computer discipline Training Centre, SONDA Podoficerska School.. The second place was represented by the 12th Wielkopolska Territorial Defence Brigade, and the 3rd – the 3rd Podkarpackie Territorial Defence Brigade.
“The level of competition is always higher. The score was frequently determined by goals scored in the final minutes of the match. I think the key to triumph was the good atmosphere in our squad – and not just the 1 on the field. We know each another all day, we train together, we know our tempers and our behavior. There was no request for improvisation. We knew where and how to strike to win, erstwhile to let go, and erstwhile to increase pressing."
The 8th Territorial Defence Army Championship in futsal was 1 of the events of the cycle of sports competition of the youngest, 5th kind of Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland. Maintaining the right level of physical culture is an crucial part of training soldiers, and sports competition builds fitness, psychophysical performance, as well as squad interaction. In addition to indoor football, soldiers compete in volleyball, basketball, swimming or cross-country races. The personnel of soldiers, composed of people who are physically efficient and conscious, make us arrogant of our fitness and perseverance.
Futsal is simply a hall variety of football. 2 teams of 5 players (four in the field and goalkeeper) play other each other. The match lasts 2×20 minutes (time stopped at game breaks). alternatively of cars, the ball resumes with a leg from the sideline, and the player changes are unlimited. The game is dynamic, method and puts large emphasis on decision-making speed.
