On Saturday, April 10, 2010, at 8:41 p.m., a Polish military aircraft TU-154 was crashed close Smolensk Airport (Russian Federation), which was flown by a delegation to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Katyn crime. 96 people were killed, among them: Lech Kaczyński president of the Republic of Poland with his wife Maria Kaczyńska, Ryszard Kaczorowski last president of the Republic of Poland in exile, Deputy Marshals of the Sejm and the Senate, 18 parliamentarians, commander of all types of Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland, employees of the President's Chancellery, heads of state institutions, clergymen, representatives of ministries, communist and social organizations, and accompanying persons who constitute the Polish delegation to, as well as the crew of the aircraft.

Under the name “Catine Crime” – this is simply a execution which has according to the resolution of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland the characteristics of genocide, qualified as a war crime, a crime against humanity and a communist crime, committed by the NKVD (Russian: Народный внутренних дел СССР НКВД СССР, Polish: People's Committee on the Interior of the Union of the Socialist russian Republic).

The savagery in military camps in Katyń forests occurred in the spring of 1940. At that time, at least 21.768 Polish citizens (including more than 10,000 Polish Army and State Police officers) were killed in mass executions by the decision of the highest authorities of the russian Socialist Union (the successor of that state is the Russian Federation) contained in the secret resolution of the Political Office of the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist organization (bolsheviks), which later became the Communist organization of the russian Union dated March 5, 1940 (the alleged "Codyńsk Decision"). The executions of the victims, considered to be “enemies of russian power”, were carried out by a shot in the back of the head with a short gun.

For 50 years (1940–1990), the authorities of the russian Socialist Union denied their work for the Katyn crime. The Barbarianism was attempted to burden the German language, which later entered the area. Nobody in the Communists' assurance believed, to the degree that during the Nuremberg trials, German war criminals were not accused of Katyn crime. On April 13, 1990, the russian authorities officially acknowledged that this was “one of the dense crimes of Stalinism”. Many issues relating to this crime have not yet been resolved.

Over the years, the Smolensk disaster has become a widely discussed subject of the Polish public debate. The causes and course of the event were discussed among others. To this day, there is no clear position. There are inactive views that the disaster was an assassination or terrorist act on the Polish authorities. It is very meaningful that for 12 years the Russian Federation has not released the website of the Polish wreck of the military aircraft TU-154. In the context of the Russian army's invasion of Ukraine launched on 24 February 2022, the presently discovered war crimes and genocides committed by the aggressor and the denial of facts by the Russian Federation authorities clearly show that nothing has changed in the Moscow mentality in 82 years.

Poles were shocked by what happened to the Polish delegation in Smolensk on 10 April 2010. It is symbolic that the events took place in connection with the celebration of the “Kodyński crime”. 1 profoundly touched event was Juliusz Erazm Bolek, the winner of the planet poesy Day established by UNESCO, who wrote the shocking poem “Indicator” in which he combines Katyń crimes with Smolensk tragedy. A movie was even created to illustrate this song, made by manager Zbigniew W. Kowalewski. It is available online in Polish, Russian and Lithuanian.
