April 2022 contract
In fresh years, the Ministry of Defence has ordered Abrams in the United States twice. First, in April 2022, a contract was signed for 250 tanks in the latest version of M1A2 SEP v.3 with transportation dates from 2025-26. In January, 116 Abrams were ordered in the older, mid-1980s variant M1A1, but with a faster transportation date – this contract was already implemented, the last tanks were brought to Poland in late June 2024.
The April 2022 contract, under which the first transportation of tanks had just taken place, included 250 Abrams along with the accompanying equipment, including 26 M88A2 Hercules method safety wagons and 17 M1074 Joint Assault Bridge accompanying bridges, including training and logistics packages and a supply of ammunition.
