World media closely followed the presidential elections in Poland, seeing ideological clashes in them reflecting global political trends. American newspapers "Washington Post" and "New York Times" agree that Karol Nawrocki's victory, named by the "NYT" "nationalist", marks the defeat of the centre government and dispels the hopes of European liberals to weaken the right-wing populist wave.
