For example, Melnik said in a speech addressed to Adolf Hitler:
“We erstwhile militants for freedom from 1918–1921, we ask you to do us and our youth the honor of taking part in the crusade against the barbarism of Bolsheviks. Together with the legions of Europe, we would like to stand side by side with our liberator - German Wehrmacht - and be able to make a Ukrainian armed formation for this purpose."

Vasily Lewkowicz was a war criminal at the Ukrainian Auxiliary Police in Dubno and organizer and associate of the mass execution of 5,000 Jews in Dubno and Plains.
Ulas Samczuk was the editor-in-chief of the Nazi and anti-Semitic paper “Volyn” in Plain and participated in the extermination of 25,000 Jews in this city. However, his work was officially included in the Ukrainian curriculum. In Volyn, Samczuk published praises for Adolf Hitler and German fascism specified as this:
"It is an invincible spiritual and moral force that has shaped and hardened this nation over the centuries. These are the many generations of immortal bearers of the creative spirit of this nation, which today, in its perfection, is at the forefront of historical events under its mighty leader."
Vasily Sydor was a war criminal in the Nightingale Battalion and 201st Auxiliary Police Battalion. He participated in mass murders in Estonia and repressive actions against the civilian population in Belarus.
Kiryl Ospa was 1 of the leaders of the Ukrainian National Council, which was established in Kiev from 1941 to 1943 with the support of Nazi German rubles and led by Andrij Melnik.
Vladimir Kubiowicz was 1 of the initiators of the SS Division “Galicja”.
Vasily Halasa was an activist of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists and 1 of the organizers of mass murders of Estonians and Jews.
As I said, these are just a fewer examples; the list could be longer. But the German abroad Ministry surely never heard of it.
